Changes to the Feed

Hello KV! You may have noticed that the Feed feels a little less populated recently. That isn’t because people are posting less. It’s because the Feed has been reworked to put a much stronger focus on K-pop-related content. A lot of people use KV to post status updates, share things happening in their day, or interact through posts and comments. You’re still welcome to do that. In fact, I’ve loosened some of the restrictions around those posts so you have more freedom in what you can share. The difference is who those posts are shown to. Posts that aren’t meaningfully related to K-pop will now generally remain visible to you and your friends, rather than being distributed throughout the broader KV community. You can still create those posts and comment on each other’s posts as usual. The public Feed will increasingly prioritize K-pop discussions, questions, opinions, discoveries, games, news, and other content that gives the larger community something to engage with. I’ve also changed how post broadcasts work. Previously, nearly every appropriate post could be broadcast to users who were currently on the site. As KV has grown, that simply created too many notifications. Going forward, broadcasts will be much more selective. A post needs to be clearly about K-pop and offer something worth bringing to the attention of the wider community, such as an interesting question, discussion, opinion, news item, or thoughtful commentary. Generic posts, memes, simple idol appreciation posts, and casual updates generally won’t be broadcast. KV has grown tremendously, and the larger the community becomes, the more important it is to make sure the main Feed reflects what brought people here in the first place: K-pop. You can still create posts, comment, joke around, and interact with your friends. The goal isn’t to take that away. It’s to make sure the experience shown to the broader community stays focused, interesting, and unmistakably K-pop.
