Episode 1 (Part4) One afternoon, Alex forgot his money at home. He stood outside the school cafeteria staring at the menu like a man who had just lost his entire fortune. Anna noticed. "What's wrong?" "I forgot my money." She reached into her bag. "Here." Alex shook his head. "No." "Take it." "I'll pay you back." "You always say that." "And I always do." "You didn't last time." "I was going to." "When?" "When I become rich." Anna laughed. "Then I'll be waiting until I'm eighty." She handed him the money anyway. Alex reluctantly took it. "Fine. I'll return it." The next day, he came to school holding something behind his back. Anna looked suspicious. "What?" "I have something for you." He handed her a tiny keychain. She stared at it. "What is this?" "Your money." "This is not money." "It's a keychain." "I can see that." "I owe you money." "And you paid me with a keychain?" "Consider it interest." Anna burst out laughing. "You are unbelievable."

That's why you're my favorite cousin." "I'm your only cousin who does your homework." "Exactly." She finally looked at him. "Alex." "Okay, okay. I'll do it myself." He took the notebook. He stared at it for five seconds. Then looked back at her. "Can you at least explain question three?" Anna sighed. "You are impossible." "And yet, somehow, I'm passing." "Because of me." "Exactly." She tried not to smile. She failed. That was how they were. Simple. Comfortable. Nothing complicated. At least... that's what Anna believed.

They were cousins, which meant their families were always together. And because their families were always together... so were they. They grew up sharing everything. Games. Secrets. Arguments. Homework. Birthday cakes. And an unbelievable number of stupid decisions. Emily eventually became part of their little world too. The three of them were practically inseparable. Anna was quiet. She was the kind of girl who could spend an entire afternoon reading without realizing anyone else was in the room. Making friends had never been easy for her. Alex was different. She almost ignored it. Almost. Then she saw the name. Alex. For a moment, she simply stared at the screen. It had been years since a notification from him had made her heart pause. She opened it. A photograph appeared. Alex, smiling. Dressed in a dark suit. And beside him A girl. Anna's smile appeared without permission. "He's getting engaged." She whispered the words to herself. She was genuinely happy for him. At least, she thought she was. Then she looked at the girl's name. Her smile disappeared. Emily. Anna stopped breathing for a second. The room suddenly felt quieter. She read the name again. And again. Emily. Her best friend. The girl who had once sat beside her during school lunches. The girl who knew almost everything about her.
