The Stolen Futures of Afghanistan’s Young Girls I am deeply against the forced sale and child marriage of young girls in Afghanistan. To see innocent girls treated like commodities to be bought, sold, and traded away is completely heartbreaking and infuriating. No girl should ever have her future, her education, her health, and her basic safety stolen from her before she even gets a chance to grow up. While it is devastating that extreme poverty and hunger are driving families to such desperate measures just to survive, it doesn't change the fact that this is a severe violation of human rights that targets vulnerable young girls. The world cannot just look the other way while an entire generation of girls is stripped of their freedom and humanity, there needs to be real, urgent action to protect them and address the crisis driving this nightmare.

(part 3 here!!) Recently saw a Post on Insta about Sunghoon, saying how much he got hate for gaining weight. Seeing Sunghoon actively take a moment to thank the true fans who choose to support and love him unconditionally regardless of how his appearance changes is a powerful reminder of what healthy fandom should look like. That exact standard of respect, empathy, and protection cannot remain an exception; it needs to be extended to every single idol across the industry. At the end of the day, these artists do not owe the public a specific aesthetic or a static look, and their health and well-being must always be prioritized over toxic beauty standards. What people refuse to realize is that this isn't a new issue; the industry has a dark, generational history of breaking idols down over their weight. (pt.2 here!!) Recently saw a Post on Insta about Sunghoon, saying how much he got hate for gaining weight. There is a deeply frustrating and hypocritical double standard embedded within the K-pop community. Anti-fans and casual critics are incredibly quick to dissect, over-analyze, and pick apart an idol's weight or physical appearance at a moment's notice. Yet, that very same energy is completely absent when these exact same artists are clearly burning out, dealing with grueling schedules, and desperately needing a break to just rest and breathe. Whether we are talking about Sunghoon or any other performer in the industry, we need to establish a firm boundary: an artist's body is not a topic for public debate. (cont. in part 3) 🌸🌸
