Morning Musume, currently known as Morning Musume ' 26 (since 2014 they have had the last two digits of the current year at the end of their name) is a multi generational group that currently has 18 generations. It is the flagship group of Hello! Project which is a musical collective of all the female artists under UP-FRONT PROMOTION. The group was put together by Tsunku who has been the groups main producer. The groups timeline is divided into 4 eras : Golden era (1999-2004) the golden era started with the addition of the 3rd generation member Goto Maki. It is the most successful era of the group. Platinum Era (2007-2010) The era started with the departure of Fujimoto Miki. While the group was not as popular during this era it was the height of the groups performance skills and it had the most stable lineup. Colorful Era (2011-2014) The colorful era started with the addition of the 9th generation and ended with the graduation of the leader Michishige Sayumi. It was the height of Morning Musume's EDM era. Fukumura Mizu Era (2014-2023) Fukumura Mizu era is named after the groups longest serving leader Fukumura Mizuki and the era lasted her whole leadership.
