About APRIL

APRIL was a South Korean girl group formed by DSP Media. They debuted on August 24, 2015, with the mini-album Dreaming. The group originally included Somin, who left shortly after debut and later joined KARD. In 2016, member Hyunjoo took a break due to health issues. She later left with the reasoning of pursuing acting. Chaekyung and Rachel were added to the group afterward, forming the final six-member lineup. Years later in 2021, Hyunjoo’s brother alleged that she had been bullied by the other members, leading to her departure and even a suicide attempt. Hyunjoo later confirmed the claims, while DSP Media denied them and announced legal action. The controversy led to public backlash against the group. On January 28, 2022, DSP Media announced APRIL’s disbandment after six years.
